Art Blitz is back, and Saturday’s second edition of the multifaceted art festival has expanded to include performances on seven stages, both indoors and outdoors, covering a square block in downtown Rochester.
It all takes place from 3 p.m. to midnight. Performance stages are at Broadway and Fourth Street Southwest; the Creative Salon at 324 First Ave. SW; in the alley behind Cafe Steam; at First Avenue and Historic Third Street; Big Brad’s, 309 Broadway S.; and the Doggery, 4 Third St. SW. Other venues will participate in various ways, and vendor and artist booths will also be set up in the area.
A Kids Hour will be held from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Creative Salon, with performances for kids and crafting activities. There is a staggered start to activities on other stages, but all stages will be up and running by 6:30 p.m.
Performing artists will include the Salsa Dancers of Rochester, Third Eye Tribal and Blue Lotus Middle Eastern Dancers, among others.
The spoken word sessions include open mic opportunities. At least two dozen music artists will perform, and about 50 visual artists will demonstrate and show their work, both indoors and outdoors.
In all cases, nearly every artist or performer is local.
Admission is free.
