“Vanishing of the Bees,” a documentary film about the collapse of bee colonies, will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Rochester Public Library, 101 Second St. SE.
The film describes what has happened to the bee population, which has been drastically reduced around the world due to Colony Collapse Disorder. The loss of bees has a major impact on the production of fruits and vegetables. Scientists are struggling to come up with a cause, but those who deal with bees on a daily basis have some ideas of their own on what is behind the collapse of the bee population.
Admission to the film is free.
