Appropriately colored like a setting sun, the RedBall Project wrapped up its weeklong tour of Rochester on Friday with a final showing at the Tap House patio.
Starting at the Rochester Art Center on Saturday, the 250-pound, 15-foot sphere visited the Government Center, Annenburg Plaza, Peace Plaza and the 600 block of 6th Avenue N.W.
Heavy rainfall cancelled the showing at Thursdays on First & Third.
Artist Kurt Perschke said in a prior interview that the exhibit is unique in that it changes how people view it and interact with it from day to day.
Each stop of the local tour drew large crowds, with many posing for photos in front of it. The exhibit was widely shared on Twitter and Facebook in Rochester.
The RedBall Project has toured more than 15 major cities around the world and the United States.
Rochester Art Center hosted the exhibit. Rochester Downtown Alliance financed its showings as part of an effort to combat the city’s “serious” reputation while attracting people to the downtown.
