LANESBORO — A day of rhubarb fun in Lanesboro kicks off with the Rhubarb Run at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Lanesboro ballfield.
Check-in for both the 5K and one-mile run starts at 8 a.m. The traditional awards ceremony follows the race at 10 a.m., and includes the Rhubarb National Anthem. Winners in eight categories take home fresh rhubarb pies, while all finishers get a ceremonial fanning with rhubarb leaves at the finish line and a shot of local rhubarb elixir.
The Rhubarb Festival includes live music, a pie-making contest, a petting zoo, rhubarb-themed games and contests, a rhubarb tasting event and vendors of rhubarb foods.
The festival is held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sylvan Park in Lanesboro.
