The Secret Life of Pets is a movie that sort of lets you down. You see the ads, get all excited, and then it’s not so good.
The Secret Life of Pets is about what pets do when their owners are gone. The movie takes place in one day’s time when these pets from the same apartment building go on a crazy adventure.
The main character is Max. Max loves his owner more than anything else. A character I liked was Duke, Max’s new brother. I like Duke because at first he kind of bullies Max, but later on they warm up to each other and become friends. A part I thought was good was when Max and Duke go into sausage kingdom, because the dogs can never stop eating sausage.
The animation is okay I guess. Very cartooney. It is good in 3D because a lot of things jump out at you. I think the movie lacked emotion. I smiled and laughed, but never felt like anything else. You are going to need your popcorn, because it is very action packed. I would recommend it to ages 2 to 10, it’s better for younger kids.
I give this movie 2 out of 5 stars. Like I said before, it lacks emotion.
