This off-the-grid organic farm is becoming well-known in southeast Minnesota for their wood-fired pizza, but they offer so much more than that. Here’s what you should know about DreamAcres.
Every Friday from May through October, DreamAcres is open for hungry visitors. Watch the sunset over the bluffs and enjoy a fresh pizza with ingredients grown on the farm. Bring your own beverages, place settings and silverware. The all-vegetarian pizzas range in price from $15 to $25.
Rural Arts Initiative
Emphasizing the ‘culture’ in agriculture, the Rural Arts Initiative has a mission to “discover, harness, exercise, encourage and celebrate the creativity that is essential to a rural life” through arts experiences in the rural spaces of Fillmore County. Events are held throughout the summer, including summer camps, Play! In the Barn performances, retreats and more.
You won’t want to miss the annual Onion Fest, held Friday, August 26. At 8:30 p.m. the Ragamala Dance Company will be performing Sacred Earth, which “explores the interconnectedness between human emotions and the environments that shape them,” according to Eva Barr of DreamAcres. There will also be music, pizza, and a focus on a wide variety of onions.
