I found this dresser at the Salvation Army for $40. The Salvation Army is my go-to for all the furniture I refurbish. It was spray-painted black, there were chunks of wood missing, the doors were falling off…it was in rough shape and defiantly needed some love.
Well it turned into a weekend project over a summer. It was my way to relax.
I sanded it, replaced all the drawer bottom, hinges, etc. I gave it a fresh coat of paint in gray. I accented the pop out pieces with white paint by distressing (I used a dry paintbrush then went over it with a dry spunge brush to even it all out). I replaced all the handles and hinges. In all, I spent another $30-$40 for materials. A vintage dresser refurbished for $80 at most! Can’t beat that!
