Bananas, botany, and balloon animals were all part of the day when my wife Beth, our daughters Eleanor (8) and Abigail (7), and I set out to experience Rochester on a $30 budget.
“Don’t be afraid, don’t be embarrassed of other people, they just don’t understand that you love dancing, so you’re trying to come out and see what you can show them, what they’re going to love. If they see it, they might be so admired by it, impressed that they’ll just sit there and say, well, maybe we should start doing it,” said Joe, “What do you got to lose? Ask yourself that one. That’s what I ask myself all the time.”
Greg’s flashlight beam slowly crept down the cave wall, lighting 100 million years of geology at a time. At one point, he extinguished all the lights in the cave, revealing the blackest darkness we’d ever seen. We couldn’t see our hands in front of our faces. The lights came back on, and the kids’ eyes were wide with wonder.
Rochester has either changed a lot in the 20 years I’ve lived here, or I’ve opened my mind more to the areas activities.
